Kartoo.com Search Engine

Last one from Sandra!? This one will appeal to those who like to use
Inspiration concept mapping software.

On April 25, Kartoo SA launched a new generation meta-search engine called
Kartoo. It provides an innovative, visual way to retrieve information from
the web. The Kartoo technology has been under development for two years and
this site is its first ?proof of concept? application.

Google Labs

Google labs showcases a few of their favorite ideas that aren’t quite ready
for prime time.? The four available tools at this time are:
- Google Glossary:? Find definitions for words, phrases and acronyms
- Google Sets: Automatically create sets of items from a few examples
- Voice Search: Search on Google by voice with a simple telephone call
- Keyboard Shortcuts: Navigate search results without using your mouse

Global Junior Challenge 2002

Edmonton teacher, Sandra Gluth sent a few sites for the week…

After the success of the first edition, the Global Junior Challenge 2002 has
restarted. The Global Junior Challenge is a global award whose intention is
to identify and reward best practices on the use of new technologies in
education and training of youngsters. This year the Global Junior Challenge
award will pay special attention to practices and initiatives that work to
tackle and overcome the problem of the “Digital Divide”, the gap between
those who have access to the knowledge generated by new technologies and
those who are excluded.

Projects presented have to be already working at 10/10/2001 promoting the
use of I.T. in education and training of youngsters till the age of 29. The
sending deadline is 06/30/2002 (the form, the must be filled in completely,
is available on the web site.
