Droodles

My friend, Sandra, thought this fun site is good to share – I agree!? A
droodle is a doodle riddle. Or a riddle doodle. It’s this scribble a
friend makes up. It doesn’t look like anything but you have to guess
what it is.? It might make a good “First Day” activity for some.

USGS Water Science for Schools

Gord Crutchley recommended the U.S. Geological Survey’s (USGS ) Water
Science for Schools web site. They offer information on many aspects of
water, along with pictures, data, maps, and an interactive center where
you can give opinions and test your water knowledge. You can choose a
topic from the main page, get a description of the main water topics ,
or view the site map.

WildFiles TV

My buddy, Andy, told me about this local gem called WildFiles.tv.? This
creative Edmonton team has put together a collection of useful
information on Canada’s wildlife (applicable to other countries too!)
This is a very new project, so some of the sections aren’t quite done
but the ClubHouse is there and ready for visitors.? From what Andy
mentioned, there is a pending television show coming too.

Graph It!

List member, Daphne Gonzalvez, wrote about Graph-It! – a coolmath.com
site:

“This cool tool provides a functional online graphing calculator. The
Graph Applet has all the common operators and functions as expected
from any scientific calculator and combines it with function graphing
capabilities. The calculator has the ability to graph the hyperbolic
functions and symbolically differentiate functions in one variable,
making it an excellent tool for higher-level algebra
and calculus students.”
