TeachNow

My pal, Danny Maas, pointed this out to me the other day. In the next
10 years America will need over 2 million new teachers. Who will they
be? TEACH chronicles the determination and commitment of four young
teachers as they fight the real fight: educating our children. Davis
Guggenheim’s award-winning documentary reveals the human side of the
story: showing what it takes to survive the first year teaching in
America’s toughest schools. (35 min.)

Wereon2u.ca – Internet Pervert Protection

Edmonton teacher, Donna Marshall, showed me this great resource for helping students (and your own children) to understand the dangers of Internet perverts and how they prey on children.? There are some frank (and necessary) discussions about what Internet predators do to gain the confidence of a child and how that can lead to dangerous situations.? A must for all teachers and parents, in my opinion!

Birthday Calculator

My pal, Andy, found this entertaining little tool.? It might come in handy if anyone has students on a rainy last day of the school year…!

Make your own Photo Mosaics

I haven’t tried this yet but my friend, Eileen Spillet, found it and passed it on.? You need one photo that you want to apply the technique to and a whole bunch of other photos – define ‘bunch’ as about 150!? The effects look pretty cool and techniques and free software are offered for both Mac and PC.
