Intro to Google Wave

So, my pal, Danny Maas, invited me to Google Wave the other day. You might be thinking, “What is this exclusive club called Google Wave?” Well, if you get yourself ‘nominated’, then you can start to use this as an online collaborative tool. I know – there are wikis out there for that. But this seems to have a lot more to it than it did at my first glance. Danny gave me a link to a good overview. (It’s on that ‘tube’ site that is usually blocked by our districts, so you might need to check it out at home…)

Math Worksheets from HomeSchoolMath

Kelowna teacher, Sharon Affeld, found this collection of free math worksheets. You can customize the worksheets with many varied options, so can make them easy or difficult according to the student’s level, with lots or less problems, with big or small fonts, etc. Each time you get a different worksheet since they are generated randomly.

Tag Galaxy

Bruce McGillivray sent me a note on Tag Galaxy —a mashup that provides an interesting way to locate images in Flickr. It searches the Flicker gallery using tags and as you refine the search you use more tags in order to narrow down the number of images selected. Finally you click on the planet to view the images on a 3D rotating globe. Remember to preview resources like these first!

Panorama Collection

My pal, Keith Kostek, came across this site spent over an hour on it. You’ll find a collection of some amazing panoramas. I found the site required a bit of digging around to find some of the best images.
