Fort Benning teacher, Krys Tuten, told me about Jigsaw Planet where you can create your own puzzles, play your own and common puzzles. (if you save the URL, your students can get to it), send puzzles to friends, and put created puzzles on your web pages. To create a new puzzle use the easy-to-use form on their home page. This service is is no-cost.

My pal, Bill Lomax, found this resource for skyscraper and urbanism enthusiasts. Featuring unique skyscraper diagram illustrations, a world-wide buildings database, one of the world’s busiest skyscraper-themed discussion forums and one-of-a-kind skyscraper posters, SkyscraperPage.com is a one-stop resource for the skyscraper enthusiast in everyone.

I got this suggestion some time ago from List member, Julie Radachy. WordWeb is a one-click English thesaurus and dictionary for Windows that can look up words in almost any program. It works off-line, but can also look up words in web references such as the Wikipedia encyclopedia. Sorry, Mac users – this one is pc only. However, if you type your term into the Spotlight input at the top, right of your screen, you get the same function.

Here’s a col wiki my pal, Bill Lomax found: “This is an update to Bloom’s Revised Taxonomy which attempts to account for the new behaviours and actions emerging as technology advances and becomes more ubiquitous. Bloom’s Revised Taxonomy accounts for many of the traditional classroom practices, behaviours and actions but does not account for the new processes and actions associated with Web 2.0 technologies and increasing ubiquitous personal and cloud computing. Bloom’s Digital Taxonomy isn’t about the tools or technologies rather it is about using these to facilitate learning. Outcomes on rubrics are measured by competence of use and most importantly the quality of the process or product. For example. Bookmarking a resource is of no value if the resource is inappropriate or worthless.”
