PIPA/SOPA were shelved last week in The United States. In reading up on it, I began to realize that this is a discussion that is valuable not only for educators and students but also for everyday citizens, whether American or otherwise. Clay Shirky gives an interesting TEDTalk about the ramifications of media industry’s influence over what seems to be inevitable in global legislation regarding copyright violation.
