Keep an eye on the left side of the screen where the current elevation is indicated. When you’ve reached the South Summit, have a look around and then explore the menu on the right side for more information on the Sherpa community and the April 2014 tragedy.

I like the way this site breaks it down and presents the definitions — and if you look along the right sidebar, there is a no-cost download of a fantastic poster in pdf format!

Data fields can be customised to make the data in basically any range you may like. This is tremendously useful for students learning about spreadsheets, databases, programming and web design!

Flat Design v. Realism https://www.theteacherlist.ca/2014/06/flat-design-v-realism/ https://www.theteacherlist.ca/2014/06/flat-design-v-realism/#comments Mon, 09 Jun 2014 14:45:10 +0000 https://www.theteacherlist.ca/?p=4135 flat_realMy brother, Brian, shared this site with me. It’s a discussion of the “Realistic” v. “Flat” design trends in web design. The interface is fun as students scroll down through the story, ending in a keyboard game-battle between the two. I liked the message at the end to wrap up the experience.

Art Heroes https://www.theteacherlist.ca/2014/05/art-heroes/ https://www.theteacherlist.ca/2014/05/art-heroes/#comments Wed, 07 May 2014 15:31:04 +0000 https://www.theteacherlist.ca/?p=4110 artheroesAdobe Education Leader, Kevin McMahon is the creator of a new project called “Art Heroes” – a program intended to benefit creative students and teachers – and a wide range of noble causes. Essentially, Art Heroes connects digital media students who need to develop their portfolios for college and job apps with non-profit causes that cannot afford industry rates for creative work. This project is in its infancy, so if you teach creatives, they may need to return as the job-list grows. If you know groups who need work done, please pass this information on so they can submit a job.
