LibriVox

librivoxI had an interesting conversation last evening with my pal, Andrew Lummis. We were talking about yesterday’s Frederick Douglass recommendation when he wondered if he could get it as an audio version so he could listen to it in the car. That put me on a short hunt until I found LibriVox – “Acoustical Liberation of Books in the Public Domain.” This is a very extensive collection of volunteer-recorded public domain literature – all downloadable for use on your device in .mp3 or .ogg formats. The project even asks listeners if they would like to volunteer to record a piece. This one’s for you, Andy!
